Breaking Barriers, Building Resilience: Mental Health Outreach at Darling Wisdom Academy
July 26, 2025 – Glasgow Campus, Juba
We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our Mental Health Awareness and Stigma Reduction Campaign with the first outreach session held at Darling Wisdom Academy – Glasgow Campus on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
This milestone event marks a bold step forward in our mission to foster open dialogue, challenge stigma, and promote mental well-being among young people across Juba.
Creating Safe Spaces for Honest Conversations
The session brought together students, educators, and mental health facilitators in an open and empowering environment. Through interactive discussions and peer-led activities, students explored critical themes, including:
✅ Understanding Mental Health: Redefining mental wellness as a vital part of overall health.
✅ Challenges Facing Today’s Youth: Addressing real-life stressors, emotional pressures, and social dynamics.
✅ Dispelling Myths and Stigma: Breaking down harmful stereotypes through evidence-based conversations.
✅ Seeking Help and Supporting Others: Encouraging a culture of care, empathy, and accountability.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Mental Health Champions
What set this session apart was the level of engagement, honesty, and courage demonstrated by the students. Through group discussions and storytelling, they reflected on their experiences and expressed a shared desire to create a supportive school environment, one was asking for help is seen as strength, not weakness.
This outreach reaffirmed a powerful truth: young people are ready and willing to lead change, they just need the platform.
Gratitude and Partnership
We extend our deepest appreciation to the Darling Wisdom Academy administration, the vibrant and thoughtful student body, and our dedicated facilitators for their unwavering support and collaboration. Your commitment to prioritizing mental health is not only commendable, but alsotransformative.
Together, we are paving the way for a healthier, more compassionate future, one where mental health is no longer whispered about in silence but spoken of with confidence, knowledge, and care.
Follow our journey as we continue this campaign in schools across Juba, working together with students to build a community where mental wellness is understood, supported, and celebrated.
